In regards to CBD, it can definitely help, but there are so many factors that it’s hard to tell which brand will work best for you. It depends on your genetics, general health, DNA and tolerance.It won’t get you drugged up, thats for sure. The Green roads CBD didn’t work for me at all. The CBD is mixed with glycerine & it doesn’t come out of the dropper well at all so it’s hard to know how much you are getting. We found no differences between CBD and placebo in respect to polysomnographic findings or cognitive and subjective measures in a sample of healthy subjects. Unlike widely used anxiolytic and antidepressant drugs such as benzodiazepines and SSRIs, the acute administration of an anxiolytic dose of CBD does not appear to interfere with the sleep cycle of healthy volunteers. Future studies should address the effects of CBD on the sleep-wake cycle of patient populations as well as evaluate the chronic effects of CBD in larger samples of patients with sleep and neuropsychiatric disorders.

Hey Linda. Sorry to hear you are struggling with sleep. I know how frustrating this can be. As I’m not a medical professional, I cannot give you advice on dosage for CBD. The Mayo Clinic used to have a dosage guidelines page but they have since taken it down. The dosage they had listed which could potentially help with sleep was 40 mg to 160 mg of CBD. I recommend you let your prescribing physician know you are using CBD alongside the Lunesta.

I have a a couple of questions regarding CBD Oils. I suffer from GAD (General Anxiety Disorder) and am under medication. Hi Dr. Kevin. Thanks for your question. I have seen people react differently to CBD. For some, yes it can help them relax and sleep. For others, it can make them feel more energetic. And yes, unfortunately for some it may increase their anxiety. For those people, CBD would not be a good fit. You made a good observation about the possibility this has to do with the terpenes involved. There are some theories about that but I have no definitive knowledge on that being the cause.
