We found no differences between CBD and placebo in respect to polysomnographic findings or cognitive and subjective measures in a sample of healthy subjects. Hey Frank. Indeed there is some exciting research on the effect of CBD on serotonin related receptors. I completely understand why you want to know the ideal dose to take for this purpose. However, it’s not possible for me to provide dosing recommendations. Most people start off by taking the serving size listed on the CBD product they are using. From there, they either decrease or gradually increase the dose as needed. I know that’s not a specific answer but I hope it helps a little. You should always start low with just tiny drops. Each tiny drop is about the size of a grain of rice. Try 2 tiny drops under tongue for 4 days. If no results, do 4 tiny drops for 4 days. If no results, do 6 tiny drops for 4 days and so on. It’s true that everybody is different. You have to play around until you get the dose that’s right for you. We have found that if we take too much, it does nothing and we just waste money. I use the Elixinol 3600 for sleep and I take 6 drops. My son uses Charlotte’s Web for PTSD and he takes a 1/4 dropper in morning and 1/4 dropper at night. I use Elixinol 3600 for my 95 year old with vascular dementia and I give him 6 drops about 3 or 4 times a day to help with confusion and prevent sundowners. He sleeps ALL night long!!!!

Hi Marilyn, I would recommend a topical lotion or salve to start for instant relief.. Maybe 250 to 300 mg tincture to see how you feel. For me, the salve took the pain in my hands away in under a minute. I didn't notice how much the tincture worked until I forgot to take on vacation. Pain that was pretty much gone but came back, I was tired, grumpy and felt horrible. It works, just need to find right product and dosage for you.

I’ve been experiencing panic attacks since I was 21 year olds. I am now 48. They are psychologically debilitating with depression repercussions for weeks after. CBD also reduced the presumed anticipatory anxiety associated with undergoing a single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging procedure, in both healthy and SAD subjects [102, 104]. Finally, CBD enhanced extinction of fear memories in healthy volunteers: specifically, inhaled CBD administered prior to or after extinction training in a contextual fear conditioning paradigm led to a trend-level enhancement in the reduction of skin conductance response during reinstatement, and a significant reduction in expectancy (of shock) ratings during reinstatement [106].

Here’s my experience: started with insomnia in 2011 that led up to a vicious circle insomnia/anxiety/depression. Took all kinds of sleeping pills/benzodiazepines for around 3-4 years straight until I decided to stop. Yoga, meditation, binaural beats, smoking pot, you name it. I started reading about CBD like 2 months ago and decided to give it a try. I live in Europe so I was able to get my hands in a product that’s a mix of CBD and melatonin. So far it has been working great if I take it after exercising for around 1 hour at the gym. It works well but in moments of high stress it has no effects at all. As soon as I get worried about anything, or if I get sick I’m not able to sleep at all even if I take the whole bottle of CBD oil, I honestly don’t know why, I guess it’s very “mental” but in general I sleep very well after taking CBD oil.

I tried the Green Roads terpenes 100mg. Only took 1-3 drops at a time. Felt nothing. Went back got 350mg and tried 5 drops. No real results. Wonder if I need an entire dropper, not just drops. I just started taking CBD oil , I am on my 2nd Hip replacement surgery due to device failures looking at a 3rd surgery. Has you can imagine the pain, stress and anxiety levels are off the charts.
