As far as dosage goes, always best to start low (0.5 mg to 20 mg of CBD) and then only add more if you need it and slowly increase your dose. Cannabidiol may play a therapeutic role in sleep regulation (Monti, 1977; Chagas et al., 2014b). In healthy volunteers with regular sleep cycle, 600 mg of CBD induced sedative effects (Zuardi et al., 1993), whereas in subjects with insomnia, acute use of CBD (160 mg/day) was associated with an increase in total sleep time and less frequent awakenings (Carlini and Cunha, 1981). Daily CBD doses of 40, 80, or 160 mg were shown to reduce dream recall and did not cause ‘hangover’ effects compared to placebo (Carlini and Cunha, 1981).

CBD is short for cannabidiol, a cannabinoid compound that is found in hemp and marijuana. Both hemp and marijuana are part of the plant family known as Cannabis. [66] showed that in rat, CBD treatment for 21 days attenuated inhibitory avoidance acquisition [83]. Long et al. [69] showed that, in mouse, CBD produced moderate anxiolytic effects in some paradigms, with no effects in others.


I have used the oil, but have found that there is nothing like smoking the flower (bud) I use the Jellyfish brand (CBD, NOT THC) Which is 18.5 CBD and I believe 0.5 TCH. In other words, it is impossible to get you high. There is no psycho-affective effect. When I smoke, just two good hits and I’m good for four or five hours. I suffer from Derealization. Even though it does not make it better, it does not make it worst. What is important is that it calms me down from head to toe. Made a huge difference in my life.

Hi Celeste. Thanks for your question. I would say as long as you feel comfortable with it, you can increase the dose for sleep to see if it has a stronger effect on your insomnia. You can carefully increase the dosage by another half or full dropper-full and see if that helps. In regard to how much to take during the day, how much are you currently using during the day?

So it would seem that intermittent use of cannabis may be a helpful sleep aid, but heavy cannabis users who take higher levels of THC than is found in industrial hemp can actually be subversive for sleep. @parus i just got my certification for medical marijuana. Upon buying what was recommended I was given CBD oil, I’ve not been on it a week yet today will be my fourth day of using it. It takes about 1/2 hour to work but it seems to help. They also gave me a cannabinol patch to use at night fir the severe itch in my head from the shingles. Also a vape two puffs as needed for the itch break through which I have not tried yet. I’m a bit anxious about using it.

Hello everyone I’m kimberly a 25 year old mother & wife. The 24 individuals were divided evenly into groups of 12 and randomly assigned to receive either CBD (600 mg) or a placebo – prior to a stimulated public speaking test (SPST).  As a comparison, researchers also recruited 12 healthy individuals without any neuropsychiatric diagnosis to serve as a control – this group received no CBD.  The CBD and placebo were administered 1.5 hours prior to the simulated public speaking test.
Certain individuals may be more prone to anxiety than others as a result of mu-opioid receptor expression and/or activation.  Research indicates that mu-opioid receptors participate in the modulation of anxiety based on the specific region of the brain in which they are stimulated.  What’s more, a report published in 2015 indicated that the neural circuitry associated with the DOR (delta opioid receptor) can induce OR inhibit anxiety.

Has anyone done the math? How much could 40mg of CBD cost/night? How much would 160mg cost? The problem is the recommended dose and doses available on the market do not jive. Why the discrepancy between dose recommended by researchers and dose available in the products? Will higher CBD oils be available in the future? For me, right now it would cost $90 to get to sleep on CBD. Totally unrealistic.
It should be noted that ipsapirone and CBD may attenuate anxiety similarly by altering 5-HT1A receptor signaling.  Perhaps a greater dose (than 400 mg) would’ve attenuated anxiety before, during, and after the simulated public speaking task.  Furthermore, although Valium is an effective anxiolytic, it is clearly not optimal for public speaking as it increases sedation which may impair cognition and/or speech delivery.

This may not exactly be anxiety in the real sense of it, but the potential could already be guessed well.
