Hi. I really do believe it depends on the mg & ratio of the CBD to THC. My first try at high CBD : low THC tincture oil was with Humboldt Anthropology 16:1. I started off with 2 drops twice a day after 3 days I went to 4 drops twice a day. After a few daysof that I went up to 6 drops and then 8 drops and then 10 drops twice a day. 10 drops twice a day was a perfect dosage for me. FINALLY no pondering worries or fears from all the “what if’s”. If I didn’t want to think about something I had control over not thinking about it. It was an amazing feeling. It was complete FREEDOM. Sadly the dispensary I use no longer has the Humboldt Anthropology 16:1 tincture. Last week I moved on to my first trial with a different brand. They recommend Jayden Juice 28:1 tincture 2 to 3 drops twice a day. Very 1st dose tried 4 drops(because I was up to 10 with my other tincture) and felt weird. Kinda spaced or like a head change. Not sure if it was my tincture or the fear (my anxiety) of trying something different. Didn’t like that feeling one bit. My second dose for the day I took 2 drops. With that said I took 2 drops twice a day for a couple of days. I could feel the anxiety stirring around within me. That warm tingling feeling in my chest and arms. All the “what if” thoughts are far off in the back ground of my mind. Crazy thing because I haven’t felt that feeling in over a year while taking Humboldt Anthropology 16:1 even after the passing of our son this past Aug. As of yesterday I started 3 drops twice a day with the Jayden Juice 28:1 that I currently have. These preliminary findings piqued Blessing's interest. For instance, she points to a 2011 study of a few dozen people, some of whom had social anxiety disorder, who were asked to speak in front of a large audience. Rule #2 – Be consistent with your dosing. Don’t start small and then jump to higher doses. It’s important that your body gets accustomed to the CBD, so gradually increase the amount over time. The extract known as CBD oil sold in the U.S. falls into one of two categories. Look for what are known as “full-spectrum” CBD products. These products contain other compounds of the hemp plant in addition to CBD. While these drugs can be effective for many patients, some don’t respond favorably. Certain patients don’t see much improvement, or they can’t tolerate the side effects. Moreover, tranquilizers like Valium and Xanax can be highly addictive. Clearly, alternative treatments are warranted. Could cannabidiol (CBD), the most prominent non-intoxicating constituent in cannabis, provide a viable alternative for currently available anxiety medications? Quite possibly!


Throughout the SPST, researchers utilized the Visual Analogue Mood Scale (VAMS), Negative Self-Statement scale (SSPS-N), and physiological measures (blood pressure, heart rate, skin conductance) to determine the anxiolytic efficacy of CBD.  Results indicated that those receiving the CBD exhibited significantly less anxiety, cognitive deficits, speech discomfort, and decreased alertness on the VAMS measure.  Contrastingly, the individuals receiving the placebo exhibited high anxiety, cognitive deficits, high alertness, and overall discomfort on the VAMS.

Few interactions: Most evidence indicates that CBD is unlikely to interact with pharmaceutical drugs. However, when taken at a reasonable dosage, CBD is understood to inhibit CYP450 isoenzymes in the liver.  This may alter the pharmacokinetics of other drugs such as Warfarin which are metabolized by similar enzymes.  That said, the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic contraindications associated with CBD appear minimal.


I have been in treatment for anxiety for several years. I am sure that most of you know that anxiety, whether it be panic disorders, social anxiety or another form is hard to live with. It really drags you down. CBD has managed to bring me back up. It leaves me clear headed and I am able to get through the day. I still go to therapy but I see CBD as an added bonus.
Public speaking: Those who have difficulty with public speaking due to anxiety will likely benefit from CBD. Cannabidiol administration approximately 1.5 hours prior to a simulated public speaking engagement significantly reduced anxiety compared to a placebo.  Those with social anxiety were found to derive the most benefit from its administration.  However, it is likely that cannabidiol would benefit even those without social phobia if anxiety is experienced during a public speaking task.
The dosages mentioned do not take into account the strength of the tincture. I have Elixinol 300, I took 1/2 dropper (0.5ml, which offers 5mg of CBD) as indicated on the bottle and felt severely nauseous for 3 hours thereafter. There is no way I cold take this dose twice per day, as recommended on the bottle. The high dosages on this site must surely be for much weaker concentrations?
Acute vs. Chronic: Most studies have examined the acute effects of CBD rather than effects associated with chronic, ongoing administration. It is possible that acute administration may attenuate anxiety, but chronic administration may not.  Some individuals may become tolerant to the effects of CBD when administered chronically and/or may find that it worsens their anxiety.
Research has shown that administration of cannabidiol actually inhibits agonist effects at the CB1/CB2 receptor sites.  Although the effects of CB1 inverse agonism aren’t fully elucidated, many speculate that CB2 inverse agonism may contribute to cannabidiol’s anti-inflammatory effects.  Due to the fact that neuroinflammation is associated with anxiety disorders, we could hypothesize that a decrease in inflammation may yield anxiolytic responses in a subset of CBD users.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid constituent of Cannabis sativa that lacks the psychoactive effects of ∆9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). CBD has broad therapeutic properties across a range of neuropsychiatric disorders, stemming from diverse central nervous system actions [11, 12]. Although the 5-HT1A receptor partial agonism is thought to facilitate a majority of CBD’s anxiolytic effects – hippocampal neurogenesis, opioidergic modulation, and CB1/CB2 inverse agonism likely also contribute.  Lesser researched mechanisms of CBD that could also decrease anxiety include: FAAH inhibition, adenosine reuptake inhibition, GPR55 antagoism, intracellular calcium (Ca2+) increases, and PPAR agonism.  Of these mechanisms, inhibition of FAAH may be most significant in regards to anxiety attenuation.

For most people with epilepsy, diagnosis sets off a gauntlet of trial-and-error attempts to find the right medication. The process is tortuous, with seizures alternately dying down and flaring up while side effects— fatigue, nausea, liver damage, and more—develop without warning. Thus, overall, no outcome data are currently available regarding the chronic effects of CBD in the treatment of anxiety symptoms, nor do any data exist regarding the potential protective effects of CBD on anxiety potentially induced by chronic THC use.

In regards to CBD, it can definitely help, but there are so many factors that it’s hard to tell which brand will work best for you. It depends on your genetics, general health, DNA and tolerance.It won’t get you drugged up, thats for sure. There are two options, either you see a specialist in the field who can recommend the best dosage for you, or its a matter of trial and error. You can try, if it works then great, if it doesn’t so stop. I can tell you that it helped me, thats for sure.
Industrial hemp, on the other hand, comes from the engineered Cannabis Sativa strain, which contains only trace concentrations of THC. Although hemp falls under the cannabis category, it’s different from the cannabis plant that’s grown for medicinal or recreational purposes. Greenish Route's CBD Sleepy Z's ($14; greenishroute.com) contained the most CBD at 30mg, plus 2mg of melatonin, and they came in gummy form, which I enjoyed because I'm 12 at heart. But I actually liked this product the least. I know they didn't contain actual marijuana, but it sure tasted like they did, and I hated having that lingering in my mouth (even after brushing my teeth). Hey Linda. Thanks for your comment. I understand your frustration. Since you say you are taking Seroquel, I recommend checking with a doctor if you are mixing CBD with this and other medications. As far as dosage goes, always best to start low (0.5 mg to 20 mg of CBD) and then only add more if you need it and slowly increase your dose. It’s taken me a while to get on the CBD kick but the more I research, the more excited I am about it, and…. the more disappointed I am in our society that there are so many politics involved with hemp. The Mayo Clinic used to have a dosage guidelines page but they have since taken it down. The dosage they had listed which could potentially help with sleep was 40 mg to 160 mg of CBD. I recommend you let your prescribing physician know you are using CBD alongside the Lunesta.
